GETTING TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER WITH
DELICIOUS IQF ROASTED ARTICHOKES
MOMENCE, ILLINOIS… (January 12, 2007)…Leave the preparation of this tasty thistle to the professionals by using IQF Fire-roasted Artichokes from Van Drunen Farms (VDF).
VDF takes the artichoke to a whole new level – transforming its flavor and form to a convenient, delicious product – IQF Fire-roasted Artichokes. |
Artichokes are one of the oldest foods known to man, first cultivated for food in the Mediterranean basin thousands of years ago. Although a delectable treat and a fun finger food for many today, it is one of the most time-consuming to prepare and eat. VDF takes the artichoke to a whole new level – transforming its flavor and form to a convenient, delicious product – IQF Fire-roasted Artichokes.
The VDF fire-roasting process begins with fresh artichokes that are first cleaned and diced, and then flash-roasted under a live flame. The resulting product is then individually quick frozen (IQF). Fire-roasting adds intense character and a subtle smokiness to the artichokes. IQF Roasted Artichokes make excellent additions to stir-fry and pasta dishes, appetizers, dips, and soups.
VDF IQF Roasted Artichokes, in 3/8-inch dices, are available in conventional form.
In addition to artichokes, VDF also offers a wide variety of other IQF roasted vegetables including, but not limited to: corn, eggplant, garlic, mushrooms, onions, peppers, squash, tomatoes, tomatillos, and zucchini.
Van Drunen Farms is a family-owned company, located in the fertile farmland of the Midwest. VDF is a supplier of certified organic and conventional fruits, vegetables, herbs and specialty products for the food industry. Customization is a specialty.
